Some are making music for young people, but with their own, original, uncontrolled, skillful, creative, music, with intelligent, thoughtful or fun lyrics, and beautiful melodies. They are called “artists.” Ever heard of that concept? Bands like Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, Tegan & Sara, Andrew Bird, and many more, so many I can’t count, nor list, them all, are real artists, who are not at all controlled by suits, in corporations, and they are not creating a ridiculous image of who they are for people to believe in, nor writing songs for a demographic group, that the corporation told them to. Music isn’t just about having a great singing voice, pumped up by a vocoder box.
