I have to disagree about the I Go Hiking To Burn Off The Crazy T-Shirt. Getting out of high potential terrain is sound advice, but the conventional wisdom about crouching on the balls of the feet is ridiculous. No one is going to weather a storm (+ an additional 30 minutes) while assuming a stress position that would be used as Geneva-friendly torture in a military prison, and then safely hike under a full pack. The crouch is going to stress knees and ankles, promoting injury, while only nominally reducing someone’s electrical potential.
