I continued to go to a regular school where I trained myself to write and keep up with classes. I always wanted to be a lawyer and worked towards that dream, my father would accompany me to college and I worked really hard to clear my exams. Finally, I got my Law degree! Soon after, I landed a government bank job. I was thrilled to be financially independent.

Early on at work, one of my superiors told me that my visual impairment was the reason I couldn’t get a promotion. I put up a fight. Soon after, at 27 I married the love of my life. Even now, the first question people ask is, is she visually impaired too. Like that’s supposed to be a requirement of some sort! But no, she isn’t blind and we fell for each other because it was love. I was attracted to her voice, she liked that I was so sure of myself.
