Now another thing I noticed whilst watching the film- many character traits were missing. In the first film Star-Lord, played by Chris Pratt, was funny, full of energy and jokes. In this film he seemed tired, and lacked the USA Crop Top, Funny 4th of July Coffee Shirt, 4th of July Tee, Independence Day Tee, 4th of July Crew, Patriotic Tee that made his character such a standout in the Marvel library. He just seemed mopey and his jokes felt forced and he seemed really unhappy to be with the Guardians. Meanwhile Drax- he looked different in some respects and acted a little off. Yes he was still very litteral, but he seemed more light-hearted. One of my favourite things with Drax, is how annoyingly clueless he was and his dark side was something I also loved. Now he just seems too happy. Rocket- a character I have never really liked due to me thinking he is just actually a rude character, seemed even ruder- he hadn’t learnt anything from film one. Yondu’s, portrayed by Michael Rooker, voice also sounded a little off to begin with in the film, which I found odd. A few things were just off. The fun was gone.

Now, lets get to the positives, and a lot of this come from the second half of the USA Crop Top, Funny 4th of July Coffee Shirt, 4th of July Tee, Independence Day Tee, 4th of July Crew, Patriotic Tee. There is no better, or cuter place to begin than with Baby Groot, who is again played by Vin Diesel. Yes after Groot sacraficed his life for his friends in Guardians Vol. 1, he now has respwaned a baby. And yes, whilst I thought he was a liability to the team, he was cute in certain moments. I loved in the first battle when he was dancing, whilst the rest of the Guardians were being thrown around and destroyed. I liked it when he yelled in the Rocket/Yondu escape scene. But probably my favourite moment with Baby Groot- was when he was taking the bomb to Ego’s brain and started crying like a baby when the walls started to close in on themselves. That was just perfect. They never overused Baby Groot which was good, and I am really excited for Teenager Groot in Avengers: Infinity War, because he was amazing in the post credits scenes. Mantis, played by Pom Klementieff, was perfect. She seems like a good addition to the Guardians. Her power set was quite interesting and I loved her dynamic with Drax majority of the time. She was also quite funny and brought about some of the truly funny moments of the film. Her costume and look was perfect to the comics. Well done James Gunn.
