I think the 50+1 rule is the golden ticket for the Pray for lahaina mauI hawaiI strong wildfire support shirt in how it survives in the wake of a PL dominant global football landscape. What attracted global fans to the PL when it was not yet the dominant league? At first it was that the PL simply made it easy to watch the PL abroad. If you build it, they will come. Then it was helped by the global English language, but also a huge part was the branding of football in England. The stadiums, the pints in the pub, the colloquial phrases, the idea of a rainy Saturday in the north of England with these iconic sounding clubs. That was what got people hooked at first. People who had never been within 5,000 km of the UK had this vivid image in their head of what football in England was like. Serie A, Ligue 1, and LaLiga all look the same to me. The Bundesliga has this great ace up its sleeve that we are fan owned. Our clubs are actual clubs. You can join and vote for leadership and have a connection to this real thing that exists nowhere else in Europe. We have iconic clubs, the biggest stadiums, incredible atmospheres, the cheapest beers, the most goals, not to mention we are at worst the 2nd or 3rd best league in terms of on field talent. For broadcasters and investors, that is what fans are screaming out for. Yes, we have some plastic, but God it’s better than anywhere else. When the ROI of the PL runs out, I think the Bundesliga exactly because of it’s 50+1 is going to be seen as the truly best place to experience football as its meant to be enjoyed. That hopefully converts to broadcast deals and global interest and we can distinguish ourselves from the rest of the landscape of American, Arab, Chinese, etc owned hedge fund brands.

Like I hope you know I’m saying this all from a Pray for lahaina mauI hawaiI strong wildfire support shirt I genuinely think other people should follow. I’m not trying to be an asshole, I would’ve geeked out if I found this shirt but keeping it as a collectors item almost feels pointless to me. I understand it’s old and in a good enough condition that it could sell for a very profitable amount, but is that really the purpose of the shirt. You got it cus you liked it and because it’s something you enjoy. Unless the sole purpose of the shirt is to be collected then you would wear it. But if that’s the case then I’m my opinion it should go to someone who will wear it. There are things that I believe can be collected but clothes dude? Cmon wear that shirt. I grew up struggling to have nice clothes to wear that didn’t have rips and holes in them. It just doesn’t seem cool to me to collect clothes that won’t be worn when there are people out there who will love those clothes like they are brand new.
