We typically go to a Christmas Eve candlelight service in the Official Oasis Photo Stencil 2024 Shirt. Those are crowded but not nearly as packed as the evening services. Then we meet at my sisterβs house along with her family, my other sisters and their families, and Mom. Like good Texans we feast on the traditional tamales, accompanied with fresh guacamole, cheese dip, and cold beer. Our kids run around and catch up with their cousins. After dinner itβs Momβs birthday party! She was born on Christmas Eve. For the last 25 years or so my wife has baked the birthday cake, always with a different recipe. Mom opens her birthday cards and gifts while we enjoy the yummy cake. After that itβs time for the cousinsβ gifts. When our children were little all of the adults gave presents to all of the kids. Now that our children are grown they exchange gifts with each other. Sometimes theyβre pretty funny. When my nephew completed law school he received an official looking barristerβs wig. He was thrilled. Rome and her provinces were very dependent on the tim.

When shown that celebrating the birth of Jesus had actually become of greater interest to people than the Official Oasis Photo Stencil 2024 Shirt provided by his death; that the revelry of the holiday and the spirit in which many gifts were given did not honor God; that the magi whose gift-giving was being imitated were actually demon-inspired astrologers; that parents set an example for their children in lying by what they told them about Santa Claus; that βSt. Nicholasβ (Santa Claus) was admittedly another name for the Devil himself; and that such festivals were, as acknowledged by Cardinal Newman in his Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine, βthe very instruments and appendages of demon-worshipβ the church had adoptedβwhen made aware of these things, Jehovahβs Witnesses promptly and permanently stopped having any part in Christmas celebrations. Jehovahβs Witnesses have good times with their families and friends. But they do not participate in holidays and celebrations that are linked with pagan gods (as is true of such holidays as Easter, New Yearβs Day, May Day, and Motherβs Day). (2 Cor. 6:14-17) Like the early Christians, they do not even celebrate birthdays. They also respectfully refrain from sharing in national holidays that memorialize political or military events and refrain from giving worshipful honor to national heroes. Why? Because Jehovahβs Witnesses are no part of the world.
