Katie came to us from the city shelter almost eight months ago. She came to us as a stray without a story and without Diabetes Warrior unbreakable shirt. She was severely malnourished, she was not spayed, she had horrible dental disease, her nails were overgrown and curled around, and she had seen great neglect. Most worrisome though, she had diabetes that had gone untreated and, as most dogs have coming out of the shelter, she had advanced kennel cough.

Katie made a slow but full recovery and remained in foster for Diabetes Warrior unbreakable shirt before we felt the time was right and safe to find her forever family. During this time she was spayed and returned to good dental health; she survived a bout of pancreatitis; and her cataracts advanced to the point of blindness. But, through it all her sweet and joyful spirit was unbreakable and she thrived. She was our little warrior and every day we were grateful that we never gave up on her!
