In a move that masterfully blends tradition with modern design, the UCF Knights unveiled their latest football uniforms Tuesday morning, showcasing a fresh look rooted in the legacy of past eras. The reveal marks a significant update to the program’s visual identity as the Knights continue to evolve on and off the field.
At the heart of the redesign is a new custom number font—a fusion of iconic styles from three defining periods in UCF football history. The numbers draw inspiration from the bold drop shadow of the Daunte Culpepper era (1998), the sharp, notched typeface made popular during Blake Bortles’ run (2013), and the sleek “Knighted” font introduced during the Knights’ inaugural Big XII season in 2023. The result is a distinctive, modernized typeface that nods to the program’s past while looking confidently toward the future.
In addition to the updated font, numbers now appear on the shoulders—a design detail reminiscent of the Knights’ 2016–2022 uniforms. That familiar silhouette also returns, including the gray Pegasus wings on the shoulder caps, a detail fans may recognize from the 2023 space-themed alternate kits.
While the jerseys offer a modern refresh, UCF’s signature helmet designs remain unchanged. The gold, black, and white shells continue to feature the stacked “UCF” logo and the sword-like stripe running down the center—a symbol of the program’s toughness and tradition. On the pants, a small but notable change has been made: the Polaris star pattern along each leg has been enlarged, creating a bolder visual impact and reinforcing the team’s celestial branding.
These new “core” uniforms aren’t the only ones fans can expect to see this season. UCF will also debut the ninth edition of its beloved space-themed uniforms this fall, continuing a tradition that began in 2017. These alternates pay homage to the university’s deep ties to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station—connections that have long defined the school’s unique identity in college football.
By weaving together elements from multiple eras, UCF’s new uniforms serve as more than just gear—they’re a visual history of a program that has consistently redefined itself while never losing sight of where it came from.
