According to Forbes NBA insider Evan Sidery, the Knicks’ 2025–26 City Edition design will revive a modernized version of their late-1990s look, most famously worn during the team’s dramatic 1999 NBA Finals run. The jerseys will feature the classic white base with bold blue side panels, the same aesthetic that defined the Patrick Ewing–Allan Houston era.
This isn’t the first time the Knicks have leaned on nostalgia. In recent years, the franchise has experimented with variations on their turn-of-the-century designs, adding pinstripes and subtle updates while maintaining the spirit of the originals. Sidery’s latest report, however, suggests a more faithful return to the Finals-era style, a move that could resonate with a fanbase eager for both history and hope.
For New York, the timing feels significant. Last season’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals was the franchise’s deepest postseason push in a generation, but the Knicks haven’t reached the Finals since that improbable 1999 run — when they became the first No. 8 seed to ever reach the NBA’s biggest stage.
