The Milwaukee Bucks are hinting at a long-awaited return of their beloved Cream City uniforms, teasing fans with an Aug. 1 reveal across social media.
On Twitter, the team dropped a short video featuring a flood of fan posts calling for the cream jerseys to return, punctuated by the message: “We heard you. Tomorrow.”
The cream-colored design first debuted in the 2017–18 season and made a second appearance in 2019–20. However, the look was sidelined when its unique shade interfered with green-screen technology used for broadcast advertising. Since then, cream accents have appeared sparingly—most recently on last year’s blue City Edition kit—but the color was never again the star.
That roadblock may finally be gone. Bucks Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Dustin Godsey revealed last November that the technical issue had been resolved, clearing the way for a full Cream City revival.
The uniform pays tribute to one of Milwaukee’s classic nicknames, Cream City, which originates from the distinctive yellow-hued bricks produced from local Menomonee River Valley clay. These bricks not only shaped much of Milwaukee’s skyline but were also exported widely, giving the city its signature architectural identity.
Now, with the glitch fixed and the demand loud and clear, Bucks fans may once again see their team donning the color that represents both Milwaukee’s history and a fan-favorite chapter of its basketball culture.
