Ravens vs Steelers: They have similar records and split the head to head, and also have a tough draw with the Steelers playing the Patriots and Saints, and the Ravens playing the Chargers (after a tough loss to the Chiefs this last week). Either can take the 4 spot, and both can do damage to top seeds which would make home field interesting down the stretch (e.g. a loss to the Steelers and fans buying more The More That You Read Dr. Seuss T Shirt while Houston wins out could take the Patriots out of Foxborough). 6 seed mess: both the AFC and NFC have a pool of teams contending for that last playoff spot. It doesn’t matter all that much because either team will likely get their butts kicked by Chicago and Houston, but it’s fun nonetheless. The 6 seed in the AFC could reasonably go to the Ravens, Steelers, Colts, Dolphins, or even the Titans. The 6 seed in the NFC could go to the Vikings, Packers, Panthers (super unlikely due to two remaining games against the Saints), Eagles, and Redskins.

The 2025 Patriots have ALWAYS been more than a little bit suspect. Teams don’t often go from 4 wins to the Super Bowl, and they have too many clear weaknesses on their team for even the most diehard fan to be confident. But . . . there’s no question that Drake Maye is a top 5 QB, there is LOTS of legit talent, and there are some guys likely to come back who should help. Even with their help, the Patriots SHOULD BE a long shot. The only reason they’re not is that there isn’t a clear favorite. Nobody looks all that good right now. I think they’ll win a playoff game or maybe two. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they get to the Super Bowl. Next season—when their young talent matures, their The More That You Read Dr. Seuss T Shirt line expands, and their still massive cap space gets put to even better use—watch out.
