I unfortunately never met him but hearing about his stories really fueled my interest in stories from throughout modern wars, from WW1 to Iraq.

It saved his life as his whole family was murdered, all nine siblings and his parents. He made it to Israel too where he met my grandmother. He never spoke much about what he’s been through in Russia though.
