Around September & October I intend to run a couple 4-6 player one-shots to vet some new It’s not a dad bod Its a father figure America Flag shirt that have expressed interested in playing with me as the DM. End of October I plan to run Curse of Strahd with 3 or 4 players, and after the holidays I’ll probably start a new campaign for “my” veterans that didn’t get invited/didn’t want to play Strahd. Granted, that’s my intention… reality is often very different! Said future games will be a lot smaller in scope – I might run up to 6 people for a one-shot in the near future, but not for a campaign. I am curious about other RPG systems (especially the sci-fi themed ones!) but there’s so much I haven’t done with D&D that I won’t likely abandon it any time soon.

Most of my players really only wanted to RP with each other and maybe one recurring NPC – I didn’t RP any It’s not a dad bod Its a father figure America Flag shirt or tavern interactions once I realized how time consuming they could be. That said, one player [cough]thepaladin[cough] wanted to RP everything, but didn’t mind typing things out – so we would have “between session RP” where we’d backtrack on times her character would’ve spoken in depth with an NPC she deemed interesting (i.e., damn near all of them). Once the other players were realizing she was learning lore (that I often had to make up on the spot) that they weren’t, a few more started getting into the Messenger/Discord RP.
